Outlined is the privacy policy for AirSent. We are committed to providing quality services and this policy outlines the ongoing obligations in relation to the management of Personal Information.

Website Privacy Policy

Airsent has adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) that governs the collection, use, disclosure, storage, security, and disposal of Personal Information. Personal Information is information that identifies an individual, such as names, addresses, email addresses, phone and facsimile numbers.

Airsent collects Personal Information through various means, such as interviews, correspondence, telephone, email, website, and cookies. Personal Information is collected for the primary purpose of providing services, providing information to clients, and marketing. Sensitive Information is used for the primary purpose for which it was obtained, for a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose, with consent, or where required by law.

Airsent takes reasonable steps to ensure that Personal Information is protected from misuse and loss, and from unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure. Personal Information is destroyed or permanently de-identified when it is no longer needed. Most Personal Information is stored in client files for a minimum of seven years.

Individuals may access their Personal Information, subject to certain exceptions, and update or correct it. Airsent does not charge a fee for access requests but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of Personal Information. Identification may be required before releasing the requested information. 

Airsent takes reasonable steps to ensure that Personal Information is accurate, complete, and up-to-date. If individuals find that their Personal Information is not up-to-date or is inaccurate, they should advise Airsent as soon as possible.

Individuals have options for controlling the targeted ads they receive and how data is used. They can opt-out of receiving personalized ads by clicking on the blue icon or by following instructions provided. Please note that this “opt-out” function is browser-specific and relies on an “opt-out cookie,” thus, if cookies are deleted or the browser is upgraded after opting out, individuals will need to opt-out again. Mobile device opt-out is also available.

Sensitive Information

The Privacy Act defines sensitive information as personal details or viewpoints pertaining to an individual’s racial or ethnic background, political stance, affiliation with a political group, religious or philosophical convictions, membership in a trade union or professional organization, criminal history, or health status.

We pledge to handle sensitive information in accordance with the following guidelines:

1. Only use it for the original purpose for which it was obtained.
2. Use it for a secondary purpose that is closely linked to the original purpose.
3. Obtain your explicit consent before using it for any other purpose.
4. Disclose it only when required or authorized by law.

Subject to some exceptions, you may access and update/correct the Personal Information we hold about you. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact us in writing.

We will not impose a fee for accessing your information, but we may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information. To protect your privacy, we may require proof of your identity before releasing the requested information.
